BUFFALO, N.Y. — There are ongoing concerns here in Western New York about the Trump Administration’s tariff policies affecting local companies and our next door country of Canada.
Now there has been another temporary adjustment that we heard about Wednesday afternoon from the White House.
We have repeatedly explained and shown the cross border connection between the Tonawanda GM Propulsion factory and the Hamburg Ford Stamping plant, along with the companies’ related assembly plants in Ontario, and perhaps thousands of jobs involved on both sides.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford spoke about it Tuesday during his press briefing on the 25 percent tariffs.
He said on Tuesday, “It will hurt Canadians, but it’s going to hurt Americans. Assembly lines in the auto sector will shut down within 10 days, I predict. Hopefully they won’t, but I’m predicting those shutdowns …
