Provincial police say a person from Kingston is facing multiple charges after a doctor was allegedly assaulted at a medical clinic near the city.

Police say they were called to the clinic in Amherstview on Wednesday afternoon after someone reported that a patient had assaulted and threatened a doctor.

They say no one was injured in the incident but one person was arrested.

Police say a 29-year-old has been charged with two counts of assault and one count of assault with a weapon.

The suspect has also been charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and to damage property.

Police say the accused had a bail hearing scheduled on Thursday.
