Timothy Shaw, 50, tried to steal the cars of at least 3 people who stopped to help after his own vehicle became disabled on the interstate, State Police claim.

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — State Police have charged a York County man with attempting to carjack multiple vehicles after his own vehicle became disabled on Interstate 83.

Timothy Shaw, 50, of Dover, was driving his GMC Yukon south on the interstate at about 3:23 p.m. on Tuesday when it collided with the concrete median, veered off the road, and struck a fence near Mile Marker 19.5 in Springettsbury Township, State Police said.

When several motorists pulled over to try and help, police claim, Shaw tried to forcibly take their vehicles. During one attempt, he threw a victim from the shoulder of the road onto I-83, according to police.
