A man from Mississauga is facing impaired driving charges after a traffic stop in Guelph.

Guelph Police pulled a vehicle over around midnight on Saturday after an officer said it was being driven erratically in the York Road and Victoria Road South area.

When the officer spoke to the driver, they said they could smell alcohol on his breath and he was unsteady on his feet.

The man failed a roadside test and was taken back to a police station for more testing. Police said he had nearly three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

A 28-year-old man from Mississauga has been charged with impaired driving. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
