Driver dead after hitting concrete barrier on private land in Ontario [Video]

A freak accident on private property in Ajax has left a 49-year-old man dead after he lost control of his vehicle and slammed into a concrete barrier.

Police were called to a home on Kerrison Road East in Ajax just before 10 p.m. Monday night for a single motor vehicle collision. The man was on private land when he struck the wall.

The driver was taken to Ajax-Pickering Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The impact from the collision caused extensive front-end damage to the vehicle.

The Durham Regional Police Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene and the private property was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.

This collision is still under investigation.
