Driving school vehicle with violations one of dozens stopped in Ontario trucking safety blitz [Video]

Dozens of vehicles were stopped and inspected in an Ontario safety blitz leading to charges for a truck driving school.

The OPP says officers were out in Caledon on Thursday and stopped some 32 commercial motor vehicles as part of an enforcement initiative.

Over 30 charges under the Highway Traffic Act were laid during the blitz, including charges for a truck driving school and a driver.

The vehicle was found to have no name on the truck, no proper inspection documents and other violations, police said.

There had been no inspection completed and police say they noticed “various deficiencies in the required documentation”  for the vehicle.

While there were no “serious” mechanical issues identified, both the driver and the school were charged, police say.
