On Wednesday, the State Department designated several drug cartels as global terrorist organizations, the latest step in President Trump’s immigration enforcement against alleged gang members in the U.S. Those groups include Tren de Aragua, the Sinaloa Cartel and others. The notice was issued by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Earlier this month, Trump delayed a move to impose 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada.
