Drug trafficking charges laid after Stoney Nakoda First Nation vehicle stop: RCMP [Video]

RCMP made a significant seizure related to 3D-printed weapons and fentanyl trafficking during a traffic stop on the Stoney Nakoda First Nation.

After stopping a GMC Yukon at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, officers noticed a “quantity of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia” in the vehicle.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed:

  • Evidence of fentanyl drug trafficking;
  • A 3D printer;
  • 3D-printed gun parts; and
  • Evidence linked to a recent break-and-enter in Cochrane.

Three people were arrested and are facing charges relating to drug trafficking and possession of property obtained by a crime.

Two of the accused, a 35-year-old man and a 44-year-old man, both from Calgary, are also facing a handful of firearm charges.

The 44-year-old remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Cochrane on Thursday.

The 35-year-old was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 21.
