Police rescued a group of ducklings from the QEW in Ontario.

The ducklings were in a catch basin on the highway near Fifty Road, between Stoney Creek and Grimsby on Monday morning, the OPP said on X.

Burlington OPP detachment officers and the Ministry of Transportation got the ducklings out safely.

Police remind people to stay alert while driving.

“Another reason to slow down and move over when you see emergency lights on the highway,” the OPP said.

As the warmer weather arrives, animals sometimes wander out onto the roads.

Earlier this month, around six cows were out on Highway 400 between Highway 9 and Aurora Road near Aurora, just south of Newmarket. And a pig was on the loose in Durham Region on the weekend.
