Police are issuing a public appeal after a hit-and-run involving a senior in Whitby last year.

Durham Region Police say the woman was crossing the street at Micklefield Avenue and Hayeraft Street around 3 p.m. on Nov. 29, 2024, when she was hit by a dark-coloured Jeep SUV.

The Jeep did not stop and fled the area, police say.

The woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators are now appealing to the public for any cell phone, dashcam or surveillance footage.

Anyone with information should contact police or Crime Stoppers.
