With more than 30 centimetres of snow falling during the long weekend, plenty of communities in eastern Ontario are still digging out, with sidewalks still to be done.

Sidewalk snow removal is taking place throughout the week in Prince Edward County and is expected to be completed by Friday, with residents asked to “proceed with caution” until all walkways are clear.

Nearby Trenton recorded 31 centimes of snow over the weekend, with some areas of the County registering even higher amounts.

Municipal officials say crews will be working overnight throughout the week to remove snow along the roadsides in Picton, Bloomfield and Wellington and thanked residents for their “patience and understanding” while snow removal work is being done.

For more information on snow removal, contact the County of Prince Edward at (613) 476-2148 extension 1023, (613) 962-9108 extension 1023, or [email protected].
