There are mixed messages from Washington to Wall Street, but the message along the Canadian border in our region is clear. We value you, um, we want you to still come and visit and, uh. And spend some time here. Canadian visitors are essential to the economy in both northern New York and in Vermont, but after the announcement of tariffs and related comments from DC regarding the US-Canada relationship, communities here say they’re already seeing *** decrease in visitors, hurting local businesses and putting cross border relationships. In jeopardy with the busy spring and summer tourism season ahead of us, our local stores, restaurants, and marinas are ready to welcome our northern neighbors. Our border communities don’t see *** boundary that divides us, and they’re open for everyone. …
