A pond hockey tournament for players in the under-9 age category at Cattail Crossing Golf Club in west Edmonton was “the perfect setting” for the outdoor extravaganza, said Kylee Quinn, Hockey Edmonton’s marketing and communications director.
“(It was) bringing back the nostalgia of the essence of hockey,” Quinn told CTV News Edmonton on Sunday, the final day of the two-day tourney that’s part of the 61st annual Quikcard Edmonton Minor Hockey Week.

Players took part in games using traditional pond hockey rules on the 20 rinks created amid the landscape of the golf course.
