Edmonton Oil Kings defeat Lethbridge Hurricanes 5-2 [Video]

The Edmonton Oil Kings came roaring out of the gate Saturday night against the Lethbridge Hurricanes, building a 2-0 first-period lead en route to a 5-2 win.

It gave the Oil Kings two straight against the Hurricanes after beating them 7-3 Friday night.

The Hurricanes got back Leo Braillard and Brayden Yager from the World Juniors, but it didn’t help much in the first period, when they were outshot by the Oil Kings 16-3.

Luke Powell and Lukas Sawchyn scored to make it 2-0 after one period, then padded that to 3-0 a little more than a minute into the second when Landon Hanson scored.

The Hurricanes cut the lead to 3-1 when Braillard scored his 13th of the season at 7:54, then pulled to 3-2 when Yager scored his 13th on a five-on-three power play.
