Elderly pedestrian dies after being struck by a vehicle: Guelph police [Video]

An elderly woman has died after Guelph Police said she was hit by a driver on Thursday afternoon.

Officers were told the driver of a Chevrolet was leaving a parking lot on Eramosa Road near Stevenson Street North around 3:30 p.m. when they hit two pedestrians walking across the parking lot.

A 72-year-old woman died at the crash site. A 74-year-old man was taken to Guelph General Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver, a 94-year-old man from Guelph-Eramosa Township, stayed on scene.

Anyone with dash camera footage is asked to contact police as the investigation continues
