A Kitchener man has been arrested and charged following a robbery at a business Saturday night.
Waterloo Regional Police were called to a business in the area of Victoria Street North at approximately 8:45 p.m. for a report of a suspect assaulting an employee. The suspect fled before police arrived.
“The lone male entered the business and attempted to steal items inside,” police said in a media release. “When an employee attempted to intervene, the male assaulted and uttered death threats to the employee prior to leaving.”
According to police, the employee was not hurt.
Members of Central Neighbourhood Policing found the suspect shortly after responding.
A 38-year-old man has been charged with:
- Robbery
- Disguise with intent
- Possession of stolen good under $5000
- Possession of break and enter instruments
- Two counts of possession of scheduled I drugs
- Uttering threats to cause bodily harm
