Enbridge warns of scams targeting gas customers in Ontario [Video]

Gas company Enbridge is warning customers of several scams that are running across Ontario that are meant to separate you from your money.

The schemes arrive in various forms through letters, emails, text messages and door-to-door through people posing as canvassers.

“We are advising customers not to click on these ads, respond to these emails or communicate with any company other than Enbridge Gas,” the company states. “Scammers are sophisticated and use many schemes to trick you into providing your personal information. They pretend to be Enbridge Gas by using our branded logos, creating fake websites and phone numbers or claiming to be affiliated with us when they aren’t.”

Customers in Mississauga, Caledon and Burlington have indicated they have been targeted, but the company says those who live in other communities could be susceptible.
