Essex County OPP charge three alleged impaired drivers [Video]

Essex County OPP officers charged three alleged impaired drivers in two days.

On Jan. 4 at 8:36 p.m., police responded to a traffic complaint on County Road 12 in Essex.

Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was arrested and transported to a local OPP detachment.

As a result, the 29-year-old Essex resident, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor to speak to the charges on Jan. 16.

On Jan. 4 at 9:28 p.m., OPP responded to a traffic complaint on County Road 22 in Lakeshore.

A good Samaritan called 911 to report a suspected impaired driver and remained with the vehicle that had come to a stop on County Road 22.
