Steinbach’s Southeast Event Centre is on track for completion, with ice making to start in a couple of weeks and occupancy expected by March. That is according to City Manager Troy Warkentin. He provided a detailed construction update to city council during a public meeting on Tuesday evening, highlighting progress on both the exterior and interior of the facility.
“The city is proceeding into its third calendar year in Event Centre construction,” Warkentin told council. “It is a large and very significant project, and it does take an enormous effort to get it completed. The good news is, based on the latest information, we do expect to have occupancy of the facility by March of this year, and that is just around the corner.”
