Strong winds from Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred have torn the roof off a building on the Gold Coast.

Footage shared on social media from last night showed the moment the roof of an apartment complex in Labrador became loose.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene, and residents were evacuated.
