An excavator reportedly smashed into multiple overpasses on an Ontario highway, police say.

Ontario Provincial Police said it happened on Highway 403 eastbound in Brantford.

Officers received reports at around 10:39 a.m. Thursday about a red tractor trailer hauling an excavator that was heading east on Highway 403, police said.

“While moving, the excavator hit the overpasses of Tollgate Rd, Paris Rd, Ewing Dr and King George Rd,” OPP said.

“Reports of pieces of concrete hitting the highway was also noted.”

Police went to the scene but the truck wasn’t located, OPP said.

The Ministry of Transportation also responded to inspect the damage.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage was asked to come forward.
