Kids are again being warned not to play “Assassin” – a game where youths pretend to take each other out with fake weapons that can have dangerous real-world consequences, police in Ontario say.
The latest warning came on Tuesday with Halton Regional Police Service saying officers have seen a re-emergence of the Assassins Game as the weather warms from winter to spring.
The game also known as Senior Assassin or Killer sees high school students track down and “assassinate” classmates with water pistols or dart guns, but can be mistaken for real firearms by officers.
Police didn’t say when the recent incidents were reported or if any charges are pending.
Multiple teens faced charges last year related to the game in Oakville, Burlington, Georgetown, Collingwood and the Niagara Area, with witnesses believing the fake guns were real firearms.
