Fashion show to feature 19 Indigenous designers [Video]

SALT LAKE CITY — The second Utah Indigenous Fashion Week show will feature the work of 19 indigenous designers. 

According to the press release, the show will feature a variety of designs, including ready-to-wear couture, modern fashion, and traditional designs. The show will also feature jewelry and accessories. 

Indigenous fashion designers from all over the state have designed the pieces. Per the event website, the designers belong to a variety of tribes, such as the Ute, Hopi, and Navajo. 

“It’s a vibrant celebration of cultural identity,” the press release stated.

The 2023 debut show sold out.  

The show will feature music by Stella Standingbear, a Lakota hip-hop artist from Salt Lake City. According to Standingbear’s artist bio, she was the first Lakota recipient of two awards at the Indigenous Hip-Hop Awards.
