There’s a chance of flurries and up to 5 cm of snowfall in some parts of the province ahead of a winter storm that could bring 40 cm to southern Ontario later this week.

The big snowfall isn’t expected to start until Wednesday or Thursday, but Environment Canada says there’s more snow on the way in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and Toronto with a 40 per cent chance of flurries in the afternoon.

Daytime temperatures will have a high that feels like -4 C with the wind chill, dropping down to -14 C overnight.

The flurries are expected to continue into the evening with winds blowing around 20 km/h.

A snow squall warning issued on Monday for the Parry Sound area could extend into Tuesday, while up to 5 cm is expected in Bruce Peninsula, Kincardine, and Southern Bruce County.
