Most of the province will wake up under snowfall warnings and weather advisories as a winter storm rolls through southern Ontario starting on Wednesday.

Environment Canada has been warning for days about a low-pressure system expected to last until Thursday, with snow and ice pellets of 10 to 15 cm possible in Mississauga, Brampton, Toronto and the GTA.

But some areas further north could see between 20 to 40 cm of snow including Barrie, Muskoka and the Peterborough area.

In Mississauga, flurries should start the day with a 60 per cent chance of snow through to the afternoon. The daytime high will be -11 in the afternoon with the wind chill and feel more like -18 C in the earlier hours.
