Up to 20 cm of snow and ice build-up are expected in Mississauga, Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area on Thursday with snowfall up to 40 cm possible in some parts of southern Ontario before the storm wraps.

Environment Canada has been warning all week of a “significant snowfall” that hit Ontario on Wednesday leading to warnings and alerts across the province.

The agency says there will be snow mixed with ice pellets starting on Wednesday and into Thursday that could lead to 10 to 20 cm of build-up in Mississauga.

The morning will see more flurries and showers in the GTA with winds around becoming 30 km/h gusting to 50 km/h and an afternoon high of around -11 C with the wind chill.

You can expect snow flurries throughout the day and into the evening with a low of -17 C over night.
