A Venezuelan man in Ohio faces charges for lying on immigration and firearm purchase forms.

PERRYSBURG, Ohio — Anthony Emmanuel Labrador-Sierra, a 24-year-old Venezuelan national, is facing federal weapons and immigration fraud charges following a joint investigation by the Perrysburg Police Department and federal authorities, according to a complaint filed Thursday.

Labrador-Sierra, initially believed to be a 16-year-old high school student, is accused of misrepresenting his age and immigration status to gain enrollment in Perrysburg High School and obtain a firearm illegally, federal investigators said.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio, Labrador-Sierra enrolled at Perrysburg in 2024 under false pretenses, claiming to be a homeless immigrant from Venezuela and a victim of human trafficking.

Labrador-Sierra was charged by criminal complaint with three federal offenses:

  • Possession of a firearm by an alien unlawfully in the U.S.
  • Making false statements during the purchase of a firearm
