Three trans inmates said the policy violates their protections against cruel and unusual punishment, claiming an increased risk of violence and sexual assault.

The order is similar to two bills currently in Georgia’s legislature.

A judge Wednesday threw out a felony indictment against a former Georgia prosecutor, ending her trial on charges that she abused her power.
