The federal Liberals could wipe out the Conservatives’ massive lead that they’ve enjoyed over the past many months.

A new poll conducted on INsauga.com shows that if Mark Carney wins the Liberal leadership race, more respondents would vote for the Liberals than the Conservatives.

The poll asked, “If Mark Carney became the new Federal Liberal leader, who would you vote for in the next election?”

With more than 22,000 votes as of Tuesday morning, 47.3 per cent of respondents chose the Liberals, followed by 45.64 per cent who chose the Conservatives.

Just 4.33 per cent chose the NDP and 2.73 per cent chose the Green Party.

Earlier this month, it was reported that a Leger survey also showed that if Carney wins the Liberal leadership race, the Conservatives’ lead would be erased.
