An impaired driving arrest has been made after an explosive collision in an Ontario town, police say.
Orillia OPP reported that yesterday (April 24), around 2 p.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle collision outside a local business.
Before arriving at the scene, officers were advised that one vehicle had suffered extensive damage and was actively on fire.
Police stated that, with the assistance of an off-duty officer in the area, law enforcement officials identified and arrested the driver of a white pickup truck who allegedly caused the initial collision.
Upon further investigation, police determined the driver was allegedly impaired and was then arrested.
As a result of the arrest, 29-year-old Nicholas Kloc of Ramara Township has been charged with impaired driving and dangerous operation of a vehicle, police say.
Kloc is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court at a later date.
