A man was rushed to hospital via emergency run following a crash near midtown on Thursday night, Toronto paramedics say.
The single-vehicle crash happened near Moore and Bayview avenues at around 10:30 p.m.
Police said reports from the scene indicate that the vehicle involved caught fire after hitting a concrete barrier. The driver became trapped inside and was extricated by firefighters, police added.
The man was taken to hospital in critical condition but police now say he is expected to survive.
