ONTARIO, Ore. — Two residential buildings under construction were destroyed, and a neighboring home was damaged in an early morning fire Friday that required assistance from multiple fire departments.

According to Chief Clint Benson, Ontario Fire & Rescue responded to the 200 block of Southwest 6th Street around 2:31 a.m. after getting reports of an apartment building fire.

Crews arrived to find a two-story residence and a one-story residence fully engulfed in flames at the corner of Southwest 3rd Avenue and Southwest 6th Street. The fire threatened other nearby structures, prompting officials to request mutual aid from the Payette and Fruitland fire departments.

Firefighters worked for several hours to contain the fire. Both of the main structures involved in the blaze were under construction at the time.
