Firearms, drugs seized from Bridgetown home; N.S. man charged [Video]

A man from West Dalhousie, N.S., is facing a number of charges after police seized firearms and drugs from a home in Bridgetown, N.S.

Police searched a residence on Morse Road Thursday and arrested a man outside the home.

Police seized multiple items during the search, including:

• four shot guns
• four rifles
• five conducted energy weapons
• a crossbow
• a knife
• a switchblade
• brass knuckles
• quantities of suspected cocaine
• methamphetamine
• psilocybin
• drug paraphernalia
• cash

Police also seized the man’s vehicle.

Ryan Laviolette, 36, appeared in court on Thursday and was remanded into custody pending a court appearance Monday.

Laviolette is facing charges of:

• 16 counts of careless use of a firearm
• 16 counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• 16 counts of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
• eight counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm
• eight counts of possession of a prohibited weapon
• possession of property …
