A hiker is lucky to be alive after a serious fall over the weekend just southwest of Lethbridge.
Cardston ground crews were called around 7:30 a.m. Saturday for reports of a man in his 20s who suffered serious injuries while hiking through Waterton Lakes National Park.
The patient needed to be rescued by firefighters who found him stuck in a wooded area.
He was then flown to Foothills Hospital in Calgary where he remains in serious, but stable, condition.
