OVERNIGHT – SATURDAY:A cold front brought snow showers and flurries into our region, along with wind gusts above 50 mph throughout the day. This caused multiple instances of blowing snow, and as a result, this lead to multiple winter weather and wind alerts, as well as a “No Travel Advised” alert sent to the Devils Lake Basin and northern Red River Valley. Thankfully, gusts should drop below 40 mph by the mid-evening hours, and overnight into Saturday morning, we’re just looking at a standard northwest breeze, gusting up to 30 mph. So blowing snow should stop occurring after midnight. Those same winds, however, will lead to morning lows in the subzero range and wind chills in the teens to twenties below zero.
