HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – The cold rain came through this morning, but for most it was ‘just’ rain, easier on the roads but not as festive on this Christmas Eve. In the eastern mountains, toward US-19 and US-219, a wintry mix that included some freezing drizzle was seen, making those mountain passes a little nervy. Travelers that are heading across the Alleghenies today (particularly I-68) should be on guard for slick spots, but most of us that are staying local will see the chilly showers taper off to a patchy drizzle with mainly clouds overhead for the rest of the day. Temperatures rise to the low and mid-40s, not all that different from where they were yesterday. Expect drier roads for services tonight, with no weather-related problems for Santa getting around.
