FIRST ALERT FRIDAY: Blizzard & High Wind Warnings in effect for the northern valley today. Wind gusts have exceeded 60 mph in some locations and blizzard conditions are ongoing in the northern valley. High winds, blowing snow and snow squalls are possible today with the arctice front sweeping through. Not much snow is expected with these snow showers (less than 1″), but throughout the afternoon hours, strong gusts above 50 mph will push through our region with a few gusts up to 70 mph north. Not only may that cause whiteouts, drifts, and icy roads, but those same winds will be a danger drivers of high-profile vehicles. Expect hazardous to impossible travel in some areas.
