Some nasty winter weather in early April is delaying a number of flights at Toronto Pearson Airport in Mississauga, officials say.

What’s being described as an “unpredictable” weather system expected to bring large amounts of rain and freezing rain — and yes, some snow for good measure — to Mississauga, the Greater Toronto Area and other parts of southern Ontario Wednesday afternoon and overnight into Thursday is already impacting airport operations.

NAV Canada, the federal agency responsible for air traffic control at Pearson and across the country, said in a post to social media mid-afternoon on Wednesday delays are “affecting some flights (at Pearson) due to weather” as the weather system settles in over the area.
