As Tuesday’s rainstorm pummelled the city, Toronto and neighbouring areas across the GTA ground to a halt with power outages and roads submerged under water.

Toronto and Region Conservation Authority issued a serious flood warning urging “extreme caution” around all bodies of water and to avoid driving on flooded roadways or in low-lying areas and underpasses. The rain and flooding also left more than 165,000 customers without power, according to Toronto Hydro.
