A fog advisory has been issued for parts of Southern Ontario, including the Halton, Niagara and Durham Regions, Mississauga, Brampton and Hamilton Wednesday morning (March 16).
According to Environment Canada, widespread fog has developed across southern Ontario and areas of dense fog, with near-zero visibility, are likely.
With temperatures near or just below the freezing mark, the fog could deposit ice on untreated surfaces and some roads and sidewalks may become slippery as a result, the weather agency warned.
Conditions are expected to improve through Wednesday morning.
Motorists are cautioned that travel is likely to be hazardous due to reduced visibility and if visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
