Fog blankets Metro Vancouver Monday morning [Video]

Commuters were warned to expect hazardous driving conditions in Metro Vancouver Monday morning as fog blanketed the region.

Environment Canada says dense fog developed across the city Sunday night, especially near the water and low-lying areas.

“If travelling, be prepared for areas of near-zero visibility. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance,” a fog advisory from the federal weather agency reads.

Forecasters expect visibility to improve by late morning, or the early afternoon in some areas.

Meanwhile, another fog advisory covers parts of central B.C. including Williams Lake, 100 Mile House, Shuswap and the Coquihalla Highway.
