Rain chances tonight:

A few showers and thunderstorms are possible, especially in our southwestern most counties this evening. We’re not expecting them to be particularly widespread or strong. The primary hazards associated with these storms are heavy rainfall and lightning. The best window for thunderstorms will be from 8 pm Saturday to 1 am Sunday.

Hazy conditions here to stay:

Wildfire smoke from Canada is expected to linger around mid-Missouri until Tuesday morning at the earliest. We expect the worst of the air quality to happen on Sunday, as the wave of rising motion causing thunderstorms Saturday night, has sinking motion behind it, which will bring some of that smoke to the surface. For most, this should not cause issues, but for those more sensitive to dips in air quality, it will be best to limit your time outdoors this weekend.

Tuesday thunderstorm potential:

We are tracking a wave of atmospheric energy we expect to pass through mid-Missouri on Tuesday. …
