Foreign nationals detained attempting to cross into Canada through Ontario, police say [Video]

Three foreign nationals have been apprehended after attempting to cross into Canada illegally through Ontario.

An RCMP report from today stated that on April 13, 2025, three individuals were spotted attempting to cross into the country via the Fort Erie train bridge in Ontario.

RCMP alleged in the report that a vehicle was standing by on the Canadian side of the border to collect these individuals.

One of these individuals was detained immediately, while a second attempted to flee on foot and was later apprehended, police say.

According to the RCMP, the third individual managed to escape authorities and make it to the getaway vehicle.

Police further allege that while escaping, the vehicle nearly struck several RCMP members responding to the incident.

These individuals later turned themselves in to local law enforcement officials on April 23, 2025.
