Nine years after the Grandview Children’s Centre announced it was putting its home on the market and five months after the brand new Grandview Kids Jerry Coughlan Building opened its doors in Ajax, a deal has been struck with new land owners at the Region of Durham.
The region has signed an agreement of purchase and sale to buy the land and building of the 42-year-old Grandview Centre in Oshawa for “future use to deliver regional services.”
Durham Council approved the purchase of the one-story building and surrounding land at 600 Townline Rd. S., noting in a news release the site offers an “ideal location” to offer community-based child care and early years programs and services.
“There’s a lot of excitement about this site’s potential to serve the growing community.”
