FORT ST. JOHN –The Fort St. John Hospital Foundation is celebrating the success of its first annual Summer Scrap Metal Drive.
The foundation raised just over $26,000 by collecting more than 200 tonnes of scrap metal.
Over 11 different companies from across the region contributed to the drive, with honorable mentions going to Strait Group, Windward Resources, and NorthRiver Midstream.
The Hospital Foundation named Petronas as its top donor, recycling scrap worth over $7,400. For their contribution, the company was awarded the ‘Bischoff Hat’ trophy, a cowboy hat crafted entirely out of metal.
All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Hospital Foundation, which is dedicated to enhancing healthcare services across the North Peace region with the purchase of medical equipment.
