Free meal kits up for grabs at GO Train stations in Mississauga, Brampton and Oakville [Video]

Free meal kits will be offered to commuters at some GO Train stations in the GTA on Monday.

The meal kits are part of a Blue Monday promotion. Thought to be the saddest day of the year, Blue Monday was a concept first published by now-defunct company Sky Travel. A 2005 press release from the company claimed to have calculated the date using an “equation.”

The date is typically said to be the third Monday in January. This time of year can be challenging in Canada as the days are cold, short and Christmas credit card bills arrive.

To combat the blues, meal kit company HelloFresh launched a campaign to offer free samples of the kits on Monday, Jan. 20, according to a press release from the company.
