BLACK HILLS REGION, S.D. AND W.Y. — The front won’t have much impact on temperatures or precipitation, but it will pull smoke from Canadian wildfires into the region. Surface-level smoke should remain minimal today (upper-level smoke will persist though), but it could increase overnight and into Saturday and Sunday as northerly winds continue.

Those with sensitivity to smoke or respiratory concerns should be careful this weekend.

Warm conditions continue into the weekend, with highs in the 70s to 80s and possibly 90s on Sunday. A low-pressure system and cold front arrive Sunday evening, bringing chances of showers and thunderstorms Monday and Tuesday. Some storms may be severe, with strong winds and large hail being the main threats. Near daily chances of showers next week.
