MORE than 100 bank branches are set to close in 2025 dishing another blow to communities reliant on their services.

Customers will see selected hubs from Lloyds, Halifax, Bank of Scotland disappear from the High Street next year.

Branches will close for good in towns and cities including Belfast, Leeds, Southampton and Warwick.

There have been a huge 6,000 closures of bank and building society branches since 2015. That’s a rate of 54 each month with the amount available now half that of a decade ago.

Since 2022 alone, there have been 1,500 branch closures announced, according to data from ATM provider LINK.

Closures mean customers have to travel further to access services, which can be tricky for elderly or vulnerable people.
