Fundraiser at EDWINS Too to aid figure skating plane crash victims, families [Video]

The benefit dinner will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 6 p.m. at EDWINS Too in Cleveland’s Shaker Square.

CLEVELAND — After the fatal plane crash near Washington D.C. that took the lives of 14 members of the figure skating community, Cleveland chef Brandon Chrostowski will be hosting a fundraising dinner to benefit the families of victims and their home skating clubs. 

Chrostowski, founder of EDWINS, said he was traveling Wednesday when he heard the news of one of the nation’s deadliest aviation disasters. The crash killed 67 people, including several U.S. figure skaters.

“Having a daughter who figure skates in NE Ohio and Canada I was shaken by the news of the plane crash,” Chrostowski wrote in a release. “I can’t imagine losing anyone who is part of the skating family, coach, parent or volunteer let alone our daughter. This has impacted the U.S. Figure Skating community across the country.”
