The dream of homeownership and starting a family is slowly fading for Generation Z, according to a study conducted by Best Ontario Casino, which surveyed 2,000 Canadians and American Gen Zers. The study found that while many in this generation consider owning a home a big goal, the lack of affordable housing remains their biggest financial obstacle.

Something Eisa Chang, a business management major at the University of Alaska Anchorage agrees with.

“I feel like our opportunity to plan really far [in] the futures has been kind of taken away because of how unpredictable the market has been given to us,” said Chang. We have no influence over the mass market of housing, the most we can do is to rent.”
